What do you do for cheap, quick and easy breakfast and lunch meals?
To be honest, I rarely eat breakfast anymore... I'm just never hungry in the morning.... I usually make myself down a glass of V8 Splash Diet Fruit Juice (3 carbs/8oz.) cuz its actually really good and gives me a early morning sugar boost to wake up.... the maybe twice a week I actually eat breakfast, It's usually a omelette (with green pepper/onion/whole lotta cheese/meat/etc.)or some form of breakfast meat and eggs.
Seeing how I never really get hungry, I rarely snack between meals.... but If i do, I always have some hunter's sausages lying in the meat drawer, or string cheese, or macadamia nuts/almonds. I never buy any of the "low-carb" food crap, cuz it's waayyyyy overpriced and I'm cheap. A good mindset to have is to just eat for energy.... once u start, and you're not hungry c/o ketosis, it's not that hard to stay on. Sometime's I'll prepare a key-lime low-carb cheesecake with ground up nuts (usually walnuts/almonds/whatever I have lying around) as the crust. Also, Sugar-free Jell-O w/ Cool-whip is my savior.
On the weekends, I do drink/party on fri/sat nights. (just turned 21... gotta get it outta my system lol) Usually something along the lines of vodka/whiskey/tequila and a diet pop, or sometimes Michelob Ultra/miller lite, but I keep these to under 4 cuz they are 2.5 carbs/3.2 carbs still. (and on weekends, I do lower carb intake to around 20, just because I figure I might end up taking in 10-20 carbs at night). The key is that when you take in a lot of carbs, eat something with a lot of protein/fat and low carbs with it to slow down the insulin so it doesnt hit your system all at once. Its kinda easy cuz u can pick up beef jerky/almonds/macadamia nuts/cheese at any 7-11 or party store. It's kinda funny cuz it doenst look like your dieting when your drinking a beer and eating handfuls of nuts/jerky lol...
but yeah, the only night I "fell off the wagon" was my 21st b-day, cuz well, I was away at college with friends and took in a bit too many carbs via beer, but hey, that's not a bad occasion to go over. But yeah, besides that, it's all about exercising, and taking it one day at a time.
