How many people here would buy this for their dog ?
I know I wouldn't.
Still, I guess if you have the bucks....

Avery's Beverages, the 103-year-old city company, began selling Woof Water, a bottled water for dogs and their companions, this past week.
"Woof Water is requested by name by more dogs than any other bottled water," said Avery General Manager Rob Metz with a straight face. "It was inspired by Dog Drool, from our gross soda line."
Metz said customers told him they wanted a water they could share with their pets. The result: Woof Water, a pure natural spring water packaged in half-liter bottles. Metz calls it "hydration for hounds and their humans."
A portion of proceeds from Woof Water sales will go to the Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary, the company says. The Bloomfield-based nonprofit organization is in the forefront of a movement to end euthanasia of healthy pets. Funds generated from this promotion will go to support its pet adoption and rescue programs.
Metz embraced the idea, viewing it as a win-win opportunity for Avery and Our Companions.
To launch the promotion, Our Companions featured Woof Water at its booth at the 16th Annual Connecticut Pet Show this weekend at the Connecticut Expo Center in Hartford. Our Companions' chief executive, Susan Linker, promised her organization would offer Woof Water tastings "that will be sure to impress the most discriminating canine connoisseur."
Avery's Beverages bottles and sells premium old-fashioned soda. The family-owned business, housed in a red barn on Corbin Avenue, uses in its sodas real cane sugar, pure well water and what it calls the finest-quality ingredients available. Its Village Spring bottled water is distributed to homes and businesses throughout central Connecticut.
Woof Water is available at the Corbin Avenue bottling plant, pet-related retailers or by delivery. It sells for $1 a bottle or $4.50 per six-pack.

That is complete bullshit and it pisses me off. I hope it flops and the company falls flat on its face.

It's bad enough that WE have to drink bottled water now... But dogs?

Bottled water is insanely bad for the environment compared to reusable cups/plumbing..

Pump water from spring, purify it, bottle it (using plastic made from oil), transport it (using trucks that use burn oil), transport it home (more oil), drink it, and throw the bottle in the trash..

or.. Pump water from aquifer, purify it, pump it to houses.. drink.

And, get this.. I'm not a fucking environmentalist. I drive a 4x4 5.7l gas-guzzling SUV.. But still.. Bottled water is getting ridiculous.

the things people do for there pets in the name to be "good owners." I know one of my co-workers buys organic food for her dog. She just wants to be on the "safe-side".

I don't know. It's just a waste in my opinion....

[1,000 post btw!!]

It's been done. Bottled water for pets hit the market at least 10 years ago and there are currently several brands available.

The people selling it or the people buying it?

If it were up to me, the people selling it should be rewarded. The people buying it should not be allowed to reproduce.

I guess the next thing we will see is bottled toilet water.
For those people who have to have the very best of everything.
Use tap water in my toilet ? no, it has to be bottled.
