Second only to Mel Brooks in Young Einstein.

How about a title for all of us that have pic sites blocked? Young Einstein?

shawty inserted a pic of Leslie Neilson in Airplane! for some reason. Caption is a quote from Leslie Neilson in Naked Gun, I think, attributed to Gene Wilder "in Spaceballs."

Annie Hall is excellent, 2nd place is a toss up between Mighty Aphrodite and The Purple Rose of Cairo.

Looking at his body of work as director i've only seen these:
The Purple Rose of Cairo
Zelig
Sleeper
What's Up, Tiger Lily?

So The Purple Rose of Cairo i'd have to say. Tiger Lily if your in the right mood though.

Sleeper was a classic.... but the guy has turned out to be such a creeper I can't think about his movies any more.

And add Roman Polanski too?
Be fair. Polanski drugged and gave alcohol to his underage victims, before raping them. Allen only (to our knowledge) won over the heart of his step daughter. Okay, I'm not sure which is more deviant. In thinking about it, I never before made the connection that Mia Farrow, his ex, as a young adult, kind of looked rather young.

Allen's Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex, But Were Afraid To Ask, was by far his funniest movie. Tony Randle was even better than any of his performances of the TV hit, The Odd Couple. Purple Rose Of Cairo was absolutely an Allen yawner and so very confusing. And yes, the new Odd Couple is a yawner too.

Manhattan Murder Mystery.
Or maybe Blue Jasmine. Loved Blue Jasmine.
Irrational Man was pretty good. Another murder mystery type.

But then again, I like em all.

He never adopted her.
