Swapped out a dented tank and plopped in working turn signals today... that's about all the needed. Time to call the cops and have them come check it out; hopefully they'll sign the forms and all and I can get it registered.

Turned out pretty nice! I've been looking for something like that for so long. How did you find yours?

Local car board, the kid needed money so he dropped the price by half. When i saw a $700 R6, i shot him paypal on the spot and picked it up the next day.

Looks like the person who owned it before you is dead.

Not dead, earless though. PSA: don't crash w/o a helmet.

Total cost of the bike is probably around 1500 or so.

Why'd you change the forks? Were the originals bent?

They were straight, the lower triple was tweaked to shit. I wanted the gold forks calipers🙂

Congratulations, you do excellent work. The bike is beautiful ... but oh so dangerous looking.

Be careful ...

I've been searching around for a GSXR front end to swap out on my SV. Trying to find a decent one on ebay for under $500 is tough though. I'd also need the GSXR front wheel and fender. A lot of people do this mod to the SV though.

Woop,
got the paperwork though, unless something goofy happens in lansing I get the title in the mail next week. Weeeeee

The main thing to worry about is the area around the steering stem, especially if the bikes has fork damage. My r6 actually had straight forks when I got it, so I wasn't too concerned... plus powdercoated frames help a lot, since the paint will flake off the tweaked areas.
