Why do they call the front panel input an "MP3" input? Wy would anyone plug in an mp3 player to an mp3 player? Is it just a line in? Why not just call it a line in like every other in dash with a line in.

Also, is this one as good as the Kenwood? They seem pretty comparable.

Why not Empeg/Riocar? You could plug it in your home-stereo, it uses hard-drives (no need for CD's), it has USB, Serail and Ethernet connections, it runs Linux... Well, it costs a bit more but...

I have this player in my car right now and it truly beats the first generation players. I had the AIWA CDC-MP3 when it first came out and it was ok, it played mp3s, so I was satisfied. Then the AWIA unit started skipping and just became a pain.

I got my deck, bought a harness and kit for my 2001 Accord, and slapped it in in about an hour.

It looks smooth, doesn't skip (not yet anyway), sounds nicer, display is cleaner, and feels nice on the fingers. I don't know how much the Kenwood model goes for, but you can get the JVC for $300 all over the net. Stay away from Crutchfield, they charge $400 :)

i have the cheapest kenwood one and I'm very happy with it. id3 tags look great and it is relatively easy to navigate...sure there are pauses when seeking...but it plays mp3s! much easier to burn than audio...buttons could be bigger though :(
