A friend of mine gave me a motherboard from an e-machines computer. The only "model number" i can find on it is "Imperial GV". I stuck it in a case wiith 1 stick of ram and a power supply (and a chip and hsf of course!) And it turned on and seemed to work beautifully!
Then i turned it off (with the power switch) and tried to turn it back on. The power supply turned on, but nothing else did. So i turned off the power supply (with the switch on the back), waited a bit, turned it back on , and again the thing booted normally!!
Whats up with that? It was not just a fluke thing, i can do that cycle every time.
Someone said to check if the bios gets reset everytime this happens - it does not.
Any suggestions??
Thanks,
