won't boot anymore... BOTH COMPUTERS

I was building a new computer for a friend.
he fried his CPU by playing with the heatsink the wrong way.

anyway, I've gotten him a replacement. I put it on his computer and it still wouldn't work. so I went and tested the CPU on my computer and tada, it's working perfectly. so I quickly put his CPU back on his computer and my CPU back on my computer. now both systems won't boot! WHAT DA HECK?

anyway, I think his system has a messed up motherboard when he messed his CPU up. but what's wrong with mine?

his system:
Duron 900
A7V-E

my system:
Duron 700
A7V

basically, after the CPU change, his system still won't boot or beep or anything.
and my system will make a beeping noise like an ambulance siren. low-high-low-high endless looping beep. (this beep only occurs about once every 10 times I try to boot up)

HELP FAST!

btw, ignore my sig, I lost a bet to some guy on this forum and I have to keep this sig for a week.

Sounds like a bad board to me. You've tried removing everything except the ram, video card, and the cpu from his system? I'd be careful with trying cpu's in your system after they've been in his. Not quite sure why yours won't POST, someone should be able to help.

And if you can, post a scan of the chips you tried. Clean off all the thermal paste first. I've seen many a smoked Tbird/duron, and can usually identify them

well, the smoked one I've already gotten rid of.
I just don't understand how this could happen... it makes no logical sense.

any ideas?
I've re-seated the CPU on my computer like 5 times already... still no luck...

here's more info:
my computer: when I press power button, the HDD and POWER LED stays on.
friend's computer: when I press power button, only the POWER LED stays on and HDD LED never comes on.

You may have a short on your Power switch or Power led leads, try a different power supply if you can.

I tried my friend's CPU on my system again and it worked.
but once I replaced my own CPU onto my system, it stops working.

I think my friend's mobo is dead and my CPU is dead.

THIS REALLY SUCKS BIG BIG TIME!
