Wonderlink IQ Test for entering NFL rookies..

Every entering NFL player has to take something called the Wonderlink Personnel Test, an IQ test of sorts with 50 questions. Apparently, Vince Young scored a 6 on his first try, which is horrible.

Some critics of the test say it's not a good way of evaluating how players will think and analyze in-game situations. Just out of curiosity I took the little 15-question practice test HERE just to see what the fuss is about. Supposedly, no one has finished the entire 50 questions in the 12 minutes time allowed.

My score: 14/15. Mostly because I didn't feel like spending the time to figure out the answer to Question# 11. 😛

What do you guys think? Is it asking too much for NFL players to be albe to answer elementary-level questions? I don't think so. Take the practice test and you be the judge.

Haha! Same exact score as me with the same exact problem not done!

I got 14 also. Didn't try the profit one cause I didnt want to do it. I knew I would get it, but didnt bother. Common sense....

He got 16 the second time he took it. The first time is rumored to have been a 6. Either way, you're retarded if you can't score above a 15 on it the first time.

Yes, it is asking too much.

They aren't paid to be smart. They are paid to entertain me. The smart people are out there slaving away for their peanuts and vince young will earn more in a year than they will in their entire lifes.

I mean really, why would the NFL need intelligence tests. Physical performance and winning is the name of the game.

That said, I LOLed at this news.

Also, the ESPN one is just a SAMPLE. The wiki link says that chemists and programmers score around 60% on the real thing, not people whose intelligence you'd really question.

One dude got a 50 on it last year. I think it was the QB from Harvard. I'm sure I could get upper 40s/50. The questions aren't difficult, but they give you a short period of time to test your decision making under pressure.

It's not like you're required to get a certain score to get into the league. If teams decide the score is important, that's up to them.

the test is not that easy, given the situation and only having 12 minutes.

i think for the average person to get 16/50 on this test is not bad at all

Oi vey... 14 of those 15 questions could be solved in a total of about 3 minutes. Considering that other players have scored in the high 30s, 16 is not so great. But 16 is more reasonable than the 6 that was originally reported. A 6 would be borderline retarded. 20 is supposed to be average.
