Occasionally, the mouse cursor will animate by scrolling several colors over the little pointer icon. what the hell does it mean when it does this? i can't find anything about it on google.
 
It means you're using the Windows Animated mouse pointer scheme. It just does it randomly when the pointer is not moving, I think.
