When there is a problem with something, they want it fixed right away, but sometimes they don't want you to work on it right now. So they're bitching at me because it doesn't work, but they won't let me on their PC to fix it or they won't cooperate so we an get error messages or examples...

As much as I'd like to have that magic wand that fixes everything when you wave it, I don't have one.

or the other thing when the software company's tech support is working on it, they act like i can do something about it. its out of my hands until they figure it out.

I SOOO know the type of people the op is talking about. They feel they're "too important" to be bothered to have anything fixed, yet they'll gripe endlessly.

Here's what you do- go to the person's supervisor/manager/dept head, and tell them that "so and so is having a problem with their computer- you'll need time to fix it as he/she keeps complaining about it so it must be affecting the person's productivity."

This works really well as it knocks the complainer off their high horse and lets you get your work done.
