Wonderful aerial photography.

Is there a site that compiles aerial nighttime pics of cities taken from high altitude? I'm talking about photos that might help a bomber pilot figure out whether he's about to drop his load on the correct target or not.

Reason I ask is that whenever I fly from Texas to the mid-Atlantic, there's a city that I cannot recognize and it really bugs me! It's either Chattanooga or Birmingham.

Google Maps / Earth?

Wow. Those are pretty sweet. I've experimented with aerial photography before and it is WAY harder than it sounds. Props to whoever took those

Wow, that first one is amazing.

Wow. That just seems so pointless. Do they come get the wood later or something?

they farm it and when the soil turns terrible after a season or two they move on and leave barren waste.

Yeah a lot of the deforestation is this. Ironically the Amazon actually has some of the worlds poorest soils, extremely unsuited for farming.

Sometimes, but sometimes its just clearing it to grow crops and raise livestock, though as the soil is actually really poor they keep having to repeat the process. 🙁

That's what happens when the traffic keeps getting worse, and the civil engineer finally says, "No, fuck you."
