I'm building a new rig (first time) and I've been doing a lot of reading on this forum and many others. I have decided that I will be going for the following:

CPU - Conroe E6600
MOBO - ASUS P5W DH Deluxe (I might hold off on this if other boards are coming out soon)
VIDEO - eVGA 7900 GT
RAM - A-Data Vitesta DDR2-5300
CASE - Antec P180B

It should be noted that I plan to overclock the E6600 anywhere from 3 Ghz (333 x 9) to 3.6 Ghz (400 x 9).
I would like to volt mod the 7900 GT up to 1.4v and oc as high as possible on that.
I also plan on oc the ram up to 2.1 - 2.2 volts.

My question is what kind of PSU am I going to need to effectively run this system? I know that Seasonic is a great brand but are there any others? And keep in mind that I am on a budget so I don't want to spend a lot on a 700W PSU if I can get the job done with a 450W. Thanks.

Seasonic S12 430 watt for $99 is wabbit hunting quiet and is rated for a 7900GTX. A Fortron FSP at $50 will do the job with a bit more noise.

Be sure you got enough power to cover all your components. That includes all drives and fans. Its not just cpu, ram, and video card that eat power. Alot of experts suggest having at least an extra 25% for future upgrades as well. The thing about PSUs is that just because they deal with more power doesnt mean they are way more expensive.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I will probably be running a couple of Yate Loon case fans, a Zalman 9500 CNPS heatsink fan, and a Zalman 900 video card fan.

What the easiest way for me to figure out how much power all of my components are consuming?
And how does one account for the added power consumption of when you overclock a card?
