Guess I'm blind then. Not seeing it.

Edit: I mean they are cartoons, not sure what I am supposed to glean from them.

She's supposed to be muscular, you know an Amazon, not some waif.

The woman in the OP looks more like a Starbucks employee than a superhero.

Looked it up expecting her to be real short from all the bitching and she's 5'10". That's not terrible. Lynda Carter was 5'9"

I've never seen an incarnation of Wonder Woman that looks especially muscular. Tall and with big breasts and hips but not muscular.

nobody cares about what the original looked like. lynda carter defined the role.

Among the target demographics for the movies I'm willing to bet that far more are familiar with Wonder Woman incarnations in more recent cartoons and comics than a TV show in the 70s. I'm in my early 30s and I've never even seen it. You'd may as well be saying that the (probably more well known) 60s Batman series had the definitive Batman until the 1989 Burton film, yet I don't think people were exactly clamoring for a representation that was more true to that one.

She is way to thin to play wonder woman.
Wonder woman has curves, she does not have any.
She only has right angles. :(

Who said anything about height?

Code:

( )

Yeah, I'm exaggerating. Gal Gadot is ridiculously beautiful, and clearly not a stick. However, compared to what I picture WW as, she is.

I wish all the people crying about casting would stfu. Same thing happened with Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker. And, now you morons won't get off his nuts about it.

The opposition to Ledger was based on his acting abilities or perceived lack thereof, not because he didn't physically fit the part. Maybe this woman is a fantastic actress? I guess we will find out eventually but her appearance is completely wrong for the role.

I don't see what the big deal is. It's not faithful to the comics but it seems like a superficial difference. Does this really change anything about her role or character? It's not like you need a large build to justify magic super strength.

The next actor to play Superman:

Which is exactly the "authentic food" trap, and ridiculous. People always believe authentic cuisine is what they were first exposed to, regardless of actual authenticity. You are negating actual facts.

Also, look up Lynda Carter in her WW outfit. She ain't exactly a buxom babe.

Wonder woman was an Amazon, not a friggin' size zero Victoria's Secret model. Where's the strong woman lead with some actual muscles and curves? I'm thinking like Xena warrior princess Lucy Lawless.

That was my first thought. Wonder Woman should be a bruiser.

I don't need to, because I remember the show. It's OK though, I'll look it up for you.

It's funny how every pic posted just convinces me the opposite way of what is intended.

Anyone who's pissed off that she doesn't have boobs and wide hips is fucking pathetic.

Amazons are supposed to be tall and strong, not big-boobed. This new WW is taller and is far more toned than lynda carter, the iconic filmed WW.

That said, I think WB's DC strategy is going to crash and burn, and the movies will suck. The director bailing is one more indication that it's going to be a shit show.

Yeah, movie will suck. Bailing as director after you've already committed burns bridges. But it can still potentially be a good career move if you're avoiding a train wreck. I doubt he would take this kind of heat leaving the studio fuming and scrambling for a replacement unless he had an intimate idea for how the project was shaping up.

it sounds like she was bailing on a clusterfuck anyway. she'll just go back to doing game of thrones/walking dead/better call saul for a while.

There, fixed.....
 You have your tenses mixed up, I think. That was about speculation, in the present, with an ambiguously open future part, and how far off the OP chick seems to be from expectation. How does an expectation-matching, and expectation-exceeding, performance from over 20 years ago make any sense, there?

Yup. DC trying to play catchup with Marvel and failing miserably.

My daughter, 14, said "that's not Wonder Woman. She's anorexic. Wonder Woman is busty and curvy, the kind of woman you could go lesbian for."

Not sure if I'm proud or not, but I had to agree.

Got a kick out of that, your daughter sounds like she has a good sense of humor.

That was my first thought. Wonder Woman should be a bruiser.

It's the broad shoulders and more sturdy frame. Gal Gadot is too waifish.

I don't look at her and see "badass warrior amazon", I see "Victoria's Secret model with a spear".

Yes, I agree!

Gwendoline Christie from GoT would be a better match as an amazon woman!

You sure about that?

lynda_carter_bikini_hq_ODCmhoJ.sized.jpg

Every single version of WW I've ever seen has had curves. 5'9", 5'10", that's a wash. But the boobs, the curves....Gal Gadot doesn't have them, and she's very skinny. Amazons were BIG. Not slender. They were proportioned nicely, not fat, but they are supposed to be big.
Gadot's height is fine, but she should be bigger. Toned is irrelevant if she's 5'10" and 110lbs. She needs to be BIGGER.

Pretty lady, but terrible choice for Wonder Woman.

Still think Strahovski could make a good WW. Can act, has the height, has the curves, has the fitness, can pull off the action, and Australian is almost the same as Amazonian, right?
