You may not know what to do with the netbook but I'm sure you can find a use for some cold hard cash ;). Sell it if you don't need it.

The bad news is the IRS wants their cut. From what I understand if someone wins a prize that has any kind of cash value they have to report it as income. It has an MSRP $399.99, which you're supposed to report it as "taxable income".

The MSRP on your laptop isn't too bad but If I ever win something with an overinflated price I may refuse just because the taxes won't make it worthwhile.

Edit: Here's some good news at least: http://www.bankrate.com/brm/itax/edit/news/stories/news_012600.asp

Amazon sells it for $299, so you can prove the lower retail and only have to pay tax on that price.

What do you mean you don't know what to do with it? Pick one:
1. Keep it
2. Sell it
3. Give it away

I primarily use mine at work to listen to internet radio (no speakers on our work computers)... occasionally I'll take it with me to my parents house to surf the net on.

I love my Eee900, I gave my mother my dual core laptop because I stopped using it. Use it like you would any portable computer. It's small, lightweight, and cheap; a perfect beater machine.

Gave the same model to my wife for Xmas. Nice little machine. The only complaint I have is the touchpad sometimes goes a little crazy.
If you don't want it, send it my way. Nice little computer to travel with.
