Funny, but oh so often it's true.

Usually people prepare the potatoes over the sink right? So they were just left there.

So when you prepare a meal, do you leave the wrappers of the food you prepare on the counter and not throw it in the trash? It's called laziness.

it's called being a MAN.

it's not the garbage disposal, it's the waterflow... potato peelings seem to coagulate together in a big ball of mush all too easily.
(been there, done that, taken the drain apart to get the peels out too many times)
They don't seem to stick in the pvc drains, but seem to stick particularly well in steel drain pipes. I dunno why.

i peel potatoes over a plate or large bowl so i can dump all the skins at once into the trash can....this avoids a number of problems; and is amazingly easy to do.

There's this thing in the sink that filters and prevent food and trash from clogging the pipe. Lift the filter up, dump whatever in there to the trash and put the filter back. Is that so hard? :disgust:

I agree with notfred, She choosed to dump everything there and clog the sink, she is the one at fault.
She reminds me of my bro's girlfriend. She was told once not to do that and she kept doing it. When I asked why she said because the trash is already there :disgust:

I disagree - this is a clear violation of the man rules.

Not enough power, especially appliances.

It's convenient to peel potato on the sink. Now I don't know the reason why the peeled skin was left over there, maybe he had forgotten about it or there was some sort of emergency. Let's just say he was lazy, but to actually let it go down and clog the sink is pretty dumb IMO. You know there will be a risk of clogging the sink, why not lift it up and dump it in the trash? You don't have to actually grab the peeled skin because the filter is easily removable. You pick up the filter, dump whatever there in the trash, rinse and put the filter back in the sink. Even a monkey can do that.

So because it's his fault he left the peels in the sink, let's clog it to make it worst :)

heh, that's where our opinions differ. I my world you wash the skins down the drain and let the disposal take care of it.

Peel potatoes into a dirty pot, bowl, plate, whatever, then scoop them into the trash or put them in the composter or whatever. DUH ;)

Hehe.. it's different for sure, we only use the garbage disposal to dispose small items that passed the sink filter. Everything else stuck in the filter, and later on we just dump it in the trash.

well in deep woods north carolina (where my family is) you take all them goodies (any food matter) and feed them to the pigs.

but I have no pigs, so I put it in the disposal.

Heh, our leftover non-meat food gets fed to the chickens. Meat type stuff goes to the dog.
