seriously, potato skins belong in the disposal. Just about any vegtable matter goes in the disposal.

Clearly notfred is at fault for clogging the sink, then another strike for trying to push blame off on fiancee for not digging out the skins with her hands instead of just running the disposal like God intended.

Maybe you just need more horsepower under that sink, beef up your grinder or something

Edit/BTW - seriously, it should handle potato skins, I think. The only 2 things I found really didn't, well wait THREE things that just refused to grind down the disposal: [*]Dry rice <-- big, big mistake... HUGE [*]Banana peels (I don't see what is so challenging about these?) [*]Crab shells -- who'da thunk it?

Notfred's fiance speaking now: He is going to be in big trouble for posting this...I was joking around about blaming him for the clogged sink, although it is annoying when he prepares food and leaves the peels and eggshells sitting in the sink. gross! I used to throw everything away and not put it in the disposal, but notfred has been telling me to put everything in the disposal. eggshells, potato peels, all manner of vegetables. This new apartment complex we moved to has crappy garbage disposals and aparently they can't cut up potato peels. I happened to forget that today when I started cleaning the kitchen. So you can all stop making fun of me now! and there wil be no pictures. so there.

you should have taken the peels out of the sink... or peeled the potatos over a bowl or paper towels or something. I usually just line the sink with a couple papertowels before I begin peeling. makes it significantly easier to clean up.

Seriously though - a disposal is for grinding vegtable stuff so you don't have to fill our landfills with crap like eggshell, potato peels, tomatos, cucumber peels. That stuff is for the sewage.

Not to metion it stinks up the garbage QUICK.
