Women's arms bend awkwardly

rh71

No Lifer
sample ... seriously... I've noticed this with my wife and a few other females but only 1 male ever. What's up with this ? It's not even a double-jointed thing... my arm does not go beyond 1 degree backwards... but theirs... ow.

hyper extending? (not sure if that term applies to this or not)

eh.. maybe its just more common in girls, i've seen guys who arms do that too though.

Not noticed before. My arm doesn't bend back either.

My ex-girlfriends fingers were crazy. She could touch her wrist backwards and everything, they looked so sweet.

this would point to their bone/joint structure in their arms being different... hard to believe.

why hard to believe? i mean you guys have one less rib than us, so we got it goin on.

Um the bone structure in 99% of humans are the same. Some people's will hyper extend further due to varying lengths of ligaments and tendons.

Women are also softer and lots better to feel than guys, duh.
Less body hair, different hormones, less physically demanded of than men, usually, and designed and evolved for child rearing.
God, I love women! err, woman, my wife...

Yeah it's like the uber pinacle of f-ing nastiness. My arms used to do it a bit as a kid, but now are straight like arrow!

It's got nothing to do with flexibility, BTW.

yes ive noticed it in about 90% of the women i know. some go much further then thatm and YES its their bone structure, its because they are women

It has nothing to do with bone structure, like I said earlier. It's the tendons and ligaments of the bicep brachii muscle, the more muscular (and shorter) the less likely hyperextension is possible past range of movement 0 degrees.

Uh, men don't have fewer ribs than women... or were you joking?

This is the first thing that came to my mind when I read the OP. More muscles leads to less flexibility. So the girly men out there should display this tendency as well. There are plenty around here to test this hypothesis as well.

my arms can't even get straight 0 degree. The best i can do i the same angle like the chick in the pic (cept mine never even get to the straight point). I'm pretty sure its because my biceps aren't long enough to stretch across that much distance.
