One of my friend's scooters spontaneously combusted probably 2 weeks after she bought it. Good thing she wasn't on it at the time

wow just wow

shows how important license plates are. without those, your car could be mistaken as a bomb! BOOM!

Hmm, I wonder why a scooter outside the vehicle registration office has no licese plates. These people really need to stop and think.

Future news:

Police blow up someone's dog on leash in front of building- It was suspiciously tied to the building and might have been a plot to blow the building up.

Police blow up old man's cane- the way he left it leaning against the wall indicated that it could have been a bomb

Police blow up someone's hat- it was left on a coat rack in the entrance of a building, possibly a bomb.

Apperently you peeps do not pay much attention to the news.

People leave vehicles bombs (cars/buses/bikes) around to be set off.

Some are remote detonations, others are suicides.

A moped with fuel in its tank as a slice of C4 under the seat could cause damage and death. for an imaginative bomber, there are plenty of places where explosives could be located in such a vehicle.

The fact that it looks innocent makes it all that much easier to insert close to the target.

IRA place bombs in all manner of things. Ever been to an airport or trainstation in the UK? Don't leave your baggage unattended.

Which means of, course, that it is imperative, for police to go on the offensive, and actively destroy anything and everything that could even remotely be a bomb... like, if a tree didn't move for a long time, then they should blow it up - who knows, perhaps the squirrels planted a bomb in it! :p

The irony is that if a private citizen did that, they would certainly be locked up and labeled a "potential future terrorist". So in effect, it's the current authoritarian state that are really the terrorists at work here.

That's true, actually - if you think about it, the whole point of "terrorism" is to instill fear into a civilian populace for political means, and by the police actions in this matter, they are serving to perpetuate that fear.

I was just reading in the paper, about recent police efforts in counter-terrorism in schools. Things about "lockdown drills", which I had never experienced when I went to school. It all sounds like a load of horse**** to me. The article made mention of the Chechnian takeover of that Russian school some time last year, I think it was. The difference is, here in the US, there is no current civil war of attempted sucession taking place. Sheesh, people, use some common sense. The only real reason for participating in those worthless exercises, reminiscent of 1950's schoolchildren anti-atomic-attack drills, is because the feds are handing out grants to take part in those sorts of exercises. So a little beaurecratic hocus-pocus later, and the local police/schools get a chunk-o-money from the feds.

I think that's one of the real fundemental sources of corruption in gov't, the continued "need" for intentionally-deceptive practices and proposals, in order to "secure budget" for things. It doesn't even have to be a concerted "conspiracy" effort. Just every person/dept. acting alone, for their own greedy purposes, acts on the whole as a "herd mentality", in order to undermine trust and truth in gov't. (Well, if there ever were such a thing in the first place - that might just be a lie that was taught to us in gov't schools when we were younger.)

Anything can be a bomb. Therefore we must blow everything up.
