Bobby Darin's "Beyond The Sea"

Somewhere beyond the sea
somewhere waiting for me
my lover stands on golden sands
and watches the ships that go sailin

Somewhere beyond the sea
she's there watching for me
If I could fly like birds on high
then straight to her arms
I'd go sailing

It's far beyond the stars
it's near beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt
my heart will lead me there soon

We'll meet beyond the shore
we'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
and never again I'll go sailing

I know beyond a doubt
my heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet (I know we'll meet) beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
and never again I'll go sailing

I guess she was wishy-washy about the whole idea. She must have started to wave-r. I don't blame her; it sounds like an em-ocean-al experience. I wonder if he even mist her...

Or, assuming she was going to say yes, you could say she got lost at "si".

This whole situation is fishy...

S.O. suddent swept to sea...

He's 45, she's 22.

She's here on visa from the Philippines...

Sorry to hear such a tragic ending...but it is a bit hard to believe...a 3 foot wave threw him off that much...that he let go of her. If the wave even looked minorly menacing, I'd be hanging onto my wife for dear life.

wow i'm surprised that people can't stay out in sea for longer. It may be cold and everything, but you should be able to be out there for like 10 minutes - enough for some people to help you

when i was in 6th grade, I could tread water for more than 10 minutes. I was like 5 feet tall then

this might go onto a male >stronger> women thread

didn't see what day it was. Oregon had some peak swell this last week.

Nelscott Reef Tow In Classic

run by John Forse. he got attacked by a shark in Oregon about 10 years ago.
can't find the pictures from the ER room.

3 inch long tooth + compression of body = 6 inch deep cut. several of them,
up & down his thigh. shark porn.

This put a tide-y end to the marriage...

As they walked out to the rocky point, she told him, "You feed the dogs, I'll feed the fish."

Uhh, maybe its just me, but I would die going after my SO if she got swept away like that. I wouldnt come back in without her.

He probably felt it would be just as easy to go order another one.

I love how unorthodox the Philippinos are with their names; "Leafil and her sister Nova"

Usually the girls have names straight from another era, like Bernice or Margaret. It's like watching old movies is mandatory for pregnant Filipinas when they're deciding on names.

Could you have done the same feat in 50 degree water, with all your clothes on (including a heavy jacket) in 7-8 foot waves while the surf is dragging you out to sea?

I don't know what the swell was on the 1st, but right now it's 7-8 feet. Since they held a "tow in" surf contest (it means the waves are too big to paddle into and you must be towed behind a Jetski to get enough speed to ride them) that day I can assume that the swell was much greater.

Besides, maybe she is one of those unfortunates who never really learned how to swim. We don't know. We do know that it would take a very strong swimmer to maintain in those conditions, regardless of gender or size.

Most of the time, it's not how long you can tread water that becomes the issue, it's hypothermia.

I've worked and played on the cold Pacific waters for years..it's fucking cold...depending on where, between about 45 and 55 degrees for most of the year.

It hits you pretty quickly at those temps.
