They were originally separate, but Showbiz bought out CEC at one point, kept both names for awhile, then eventually rebranded all of them as CEC. So depending on when you're talking about, they may have been different or maybe not.

My kid's not old enough for CEC yet but I apparently need to check out the local one to see if it's ghetto or not. Given the town, I can imagine it going either way.

Chuck E Cheese bought up Show Biz. Perhaps where you live you had both before the merger/buyout. Around here, we never had Chuck E Cheese until they replaced Show Biz
