I have read a few more articles on the incident and I would bet that leaving the scene tells the real story.

Fuller may have told his lawyer that she hit him first, so his lawyer is talking about videos, but he hasn't seen the videos yet.

I would bet that Fuller went into a rage and hit the woman, unprovoked, save for the fact that she wouldn't let him have the space.

That's probably why he fled the scene instead of trying to help the bloody woman he just hit.

If I had to hit a woman who was fighting me, to defend myself, I wouldn't leave her there bloody in the street. I'd call for help for her and wait for it to arrive.

I think he punched her because her boyfriend was right there trying to turn around to park, and he was coming over to help her. It was to get back at the boyfriend or to spite him.

A grand jury will decide and they will choose to prosecute this guy. The moment he stopped his car and got out, he is showing intent. Her being in the wrong does not clear him of that fact. He stopped his car in the street, got out and started an altercation that resulted in her injuries.

I love this absolute "I'll never hit a woman for any reason" crap. I believe NO ONE should strike ANYONE unless they are being attacked.

However, let me give you a little example of when it would be ok to strike a woman. I went to an event where this little kid was dancing around in his seat (It was a concert). And the lady behind him punched him right in the back of the head and the kid started crying. Let me tell you, I don't hit woman, but I'd definitely make an exception on this one.

I've only intentionally hit a female once. It was in 1st grade when I was taking swimming lessons, and the girl next to me pulled down my swimming trunks. I was annoyed, pulled them back up, and told her to stop. When she repeated her actions, I punched her in the stomach. The surprising thing was that, IIRC, she didn't really cry. Probably because I hit like a girl.

I would have given her a medal.

at a local mcdonalds one of my coworkers got knocked out by a guy who thought he was parked behind his car (you know how they tell you to pull up in a drive thru if your food is going to take long). turns out it was another guys car that was standing to the side.

She deserved it. You can't fucking stand in a parking spot and save it for someone.
she didn't deserve to be driven into a coma. c'mon, i hope you really are only saying this and don't believe it in real life.

i kinda doubt he intended to put her in a coma. likely he didn't even think of what he was doing. Most women that get hit, though wrong, is usually cause of their mouth, maybe if she calmly tried to reason with the man, maybe nothing would have happened. maybe, depending on the guy's mental situation.

i was taught that words are never a reason to hit someone. i still believe that to be true.

Legally, no. But I can think of many reasons to hit someone for saying many things.
Apparently, there are such a thing as fighting words that make throwing a first punch justified.
I've been looking to find a definitive example without success, though.

let me know if you find one, because it would be the first i've ever heard of it.

morally yes. i never hit a woman, but living with one, i can honestly say there are times when i would love to knock her teeth in.
Women can have quite the mouth on them in a very consistent way that you want them to just shutup.

some people are just naturally more physically aggressive, not that its justifiable but just how it is.

i wasn't just talking about hitting a woman. i meant it as you have no right to hit anyone just because they say something to you.

also, men can be just as mouthy as women. it's not a gender specific trait.

i never met a man who kept ranting and bitching beyond the time they know their point was made or when its over. Usually they start to fight before the point is made to begin with.
of course i expect there are some men that are just womanly like that, continue to rant when they should already be punching, but that's just how it is. Same goes for women, i've seen some that fight like men.

This guy is a prick, however; the old adage of not hitting a woman is really a good way to get your ass fucked up today.

Sure, you never hit anyone just mouthing off and that was what this 'rule' was designed for.

I don't go around looking for women to punch but the one's I have had to put down had partially torn my ear off and another put a nail in a 2x4 through my hand.

Making this into a woman vs man issue is taking away from the real issue. Getting involved into a physical altercation can lead to unattended consequences. All it takes is one well landed punch to knock someone over and have them strike their head causing brain damage. Could happen in a bar, knocking a guy against the counter or like in this situation. The guy should have turned the other cheek, but he probably has the personality that would have eventually landed him in the situation.

This is a big reason why I have tempered getting upset at others while driving. There is always someone crazier than you that doesn't give a shit if they take your life our not. It's just a matter of time before you find that individual.

I reserve judgment either way until I see the video. Right now, it's they said, lawyer said. If he was calm (I have doubts) and she started hitting him first, then, bummer. Or, if it happened as the other side says - he was violent first, then he belongs in prison.

Doesn't matter if he was calm or told her to move her ass. Once she struck him, it was on.

Still sad she may die over this regardless if she was the antagonist.
