Softwood lumber is exempt from NAFTA, and just because we can make faster, better and cheaper, your government puts huge tariffs on it, attemping to cripple the B.C. forestry industry.

Thank god you still need Canadian wood. Now the American consumers just have to pay more for it. If NAFTA wasn't around, the U.S. government would put huge tariffs on lots of other Canadian imports, the cost of which would most likely be transferred to American consumers, not Canadian business.

I think NAFTA protects you from yourself.
