Woman kills husband and herself while trying to park her car

You obviously have never been to San Francisco, the parking spaces here are small even for the stupid... I meant Smart cars.

Maybe it was just their car that made it look so small. That car is big as hell, its like trying to park a tank in there.

Between a car and concrete is a bit of a darwin award yes. Still sad though since they were just going about their day.

That's what they get for 'reverse parking.' Reverse lights are on the back of a car for a reason...if you back in, I have no way of knowing that you're in gear and are about to jump out of the goddamned space like a jackass.
Reverse parking saves room, the lanes can be narrower. I've been to parking lots in Japan where "nose in" parking wasn't possible.

Sad. This is freak x2.. husband to do what he did, wife to put her head out the window.. very unusual both. Hopefully having such a weird thing happen will be of some benefit to the child over the long run, of course that is doubtful but you see it in movies.

How does it save room? You mean if you back in next to a car that's not backed in?

Last time I did that in a narrow space (to allow the driver's doors of my car and the one next to me to open fully)...the guy on the other side apparently had a passenger who was too goddamned stupid to understand the concept, and slammed his fucking door into mine. I don't try that anymore.

edit: oh, you mean actually putting less space in the area where you drive. Yeah, fuck that, too. People are too dumb for it. If you can't fit two cars side by side ('one way' lots), just slant the damn spaces and save everyone grief.

I mean row after row of cars, for example in a department store parking lot or parking garage, all backed in. The turn radius is less when you back in, nose in just wasn't possible with a van.

Gotta admit, I laughed my ass off... (Asian drivers, y'know?)

Feel really bad for the kid though, that's gonna mess 'em up.

I'm scared to stick my arm out the window sometimes if cars seem close. I wouldn't ever want to stick out my head 2 feet from a concrete wall while its running wow.

Attribute this to wealth "shock". This couple (and most in China) have just recently come into wealth and are ill prepared to deal with it. In this case their wealth destroyed them.

WTF of the year award.

How did she even pass her road test in the first place?

Before my wife went to London, I took her to get her driver's license. From what I saw before I knew she was going to fail the test. So, when we went to the test site I scoped out the examiners. They were both heavyset black women. I then decided to go to a local music shop and purchased a bunch of gospel and Christian CDs and scattered them around our car. I also put one in the player for good measure. It worked. My wife passed the exam even though there were all these marks for failure to do this or that (I counted 60) but the examiner only took off 30 points (the maximum points allowed before you fail).

Truth is, anyone can pass a road test, it just depends on how you go about it. Of course, I would never allow my wife to drive in the city because when she gets nervous she panics. She needs more practice (maybe New Jersey or Connecticut) but she accomplished something and went through her rite of passage.

EDIT: Not too long ago I broke my arm rollerblading. She was teaching me. There was blood everywhere. She had her permit and I could not feel my right arm (because of all the pain). But I made damn sure I drove to the hospital. I did not trust her since she gets nervous all the time. Also, I heard ambulances were $400/trip so I did not want to pay or have my insurer pay when I could've driven there...
