well goes to show why it happens, 6 months if you are stupid enough to slip up or not tell a good enough story. very low price/risk compared to the damage you can inflict which is permanent tarnish on someone elses reputation and perhaps legal record.

i know feminists for the longest time were so intent on protecting victims they had to pretend no women lied, but that time is past, time to acknowledge there are as many psycho women out there as men, they just do damage in a different way.

i'm sure many many more just go into the not enough evidence to go either way pile, people hold onto the story and thats enough.

remeber that duke lacross case?
"Crystal Mangum graduated from North Carolina Central University in May 2008, with a degree in police psychology"

"n January 2007, lacrosse team member Kyle Dowd filed a lawsuit against Duke University and visiting associate professor and member of the Group of 88 (sometimes referred to as the "Gang of 88"), Kim Curtis, claiming that he and another teammate were given failing grades on their final paper as a form of retaliation after the scandal broke.[117][118] The case has been settled with the terms undisclosed except that Dowd's grade was altered to a P.[119]

Dowd's mother emailed another member of the 88, Houston Baker, who continued to accuse her son and the others of being, "hooligans, rapists", and called her "the mother of a farm animal".[120]

The lacrosse team, reinstated for the 2007 season, reached the NCAA Finals as the #1 seed. The Blue Devils lost to the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays in the championship, 12–11.[121]"

"Cooper also announced that Mangum would not be prosecuted, stating that investigators and attorneys that had interviewed her thought "she may actually believe the many different stories that she has been telling" and "it's in the best interest of justice not to bring charges".[68]"

she destroyed countless lives, and she didnt' even get prosecuted.

A false rape accusation will probably cause more damage to someone's life than a real rape. She should get at least 5 years.

even thats not enough, she could have inflicted permanent damage with the guy having a sex offender label he would have to carry for life. she would need a similar burden to even have it remotely become fair.

And if you lie about who killed you should you get life in prison? Make some sense man.

Not sure what it's like in your area, but corpses are not allowed to testify in the many states I have lived.

I get the jist of what you are proclaiming, but you shouldn't be so bold when the prose of your message is not correct.

And if you lie about who killed you should you get life in prison? Make some sense man.

So what if you lied about a murder and that person was imprisoned for decades. What should your punishment be? Harsh language?

He's making sense. Rapists need hard time. Ruining someones life intentionally by claiming it should have the same.

Does double-jeopardy come into play? I think he should get to rape her now.

This is my biggest concern. If I were ever falsely accused, I'd be BEGGING the DA to allow her off scot free if she just admits it was a lie, especially since there would be too many barriers to punishing people who you can prove lied (like deterring actual rape victims with hard to prove cases from coming forward).

So your biggest concern after having your life ruined is worry about other potential victims.

This dude got lucky to get 2 months.

this guy got 4 years. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-5332343-504083.html

he didn't even sleep with her.

depending on what you do and where you live, you'll never be able to rebuild without relocating. With the internet today, the story however false is just a click away. So you'll never really escape it.
