The grenade was believed to have traveled with the potatoes from France, the ANSA news agency reported.

Stuff like that happens all the time.

They are still digging up explosive artillery shells from the US civil war during construction projects in the South.

yeah but most of it gets thrown away because the contractor has to report it to the state, and then the job gets put on hold while they asses the site for historical artifacts.....

Nah, the grenade just wanted a point to its existence and tried to escape to a country that would actually put it to good use.

This still happens all over europe. One of my buddy's parents dugg up a T34 barrel in the back of their house. I've got a german bayonet that came out of my ouncle's property.
