Sounds like a standard eccentric rich person to me. Once you have enough money that a thousand or two isn't an object, I guess going going into a store and buying them out of some random item might seem like an interesting way to spend an hour or two. Just think of the pranks you could play if you had Bill Gates kind of money... go into a small town, and buy every single roll of toilet paper in every store so the local townsfolk don't have any.

Man, I'd be offering people $1000 to go roll in mud. Just to see who values dignity over money.

I'd roll in mud for $1000 no problem. Screw dignity.

I wouldn't for all the money in the world. You're losing something when you give in to a situation like that. And it's something you'll never get back. Better to be a poor proud man than a rich sleeze.

BTW, it occurs to me that I've never been poor, so maybe my view is skewed. Honor is paramount.

I would attach an infinitely higher amount of honor to the person who rolls in the mud and gives the money to a good charity. You obviously take yourself way too seriously. You do realize you are a tiny speck on a tiny planet rotating around a fireball that is one of a billion in our galaxy alone, you aren't special.

Do you consider cases of beer and computer parts for yourself charity? The everyday person will do alot for a grand. A local radio station got a man to kiss a woman for 50 bucks, then they called his wife and told her that he seemed to enjoy it....The local asshat on G105 who advocates that everyone who engages in premarital sex except him are whores, and it is fun to runover bicyclists

Actually it is you losing something....$1000 to be exact for being a stuck up dumbass whose pride isn't going to buy him a damn thing in this world, or in to heaven for that matter if you believe in that stuff. Roll in the mud and collect your damn money because anything less is pure stupidity.
Bullsh!t. You don't know what pride can buy you because you don't have any. Sometimes a little pride can go a long way.

Although I will add that valuing pride over everything in any situation is a tad bit arrogant.
