woman bags a 1025 lb alligator with a .22

a. 22? that Gator must've suffered tremendously. where are all the ATOT animal rights activists now?

also, they used a knife.

"The .22-caliber gun they used wasn't powerful
enough to put the animal down, so Mara-
Christian used a knife to sever the alligator's
spinal cord."

40 pounds of usable meat on a 1000+ lb. alligator? Was this thing confined to bed and being fed Big Macs by an enabling sister?

Alligators are most commonly killed with a .22LR. The biggest ones with .22mag. They drop dead instantly when hit in the right spot.

All of the gator hunters on the show Swamp People use .22's.

Moving to Columbia, SC next week. Hope to not bump into any 1000lb gators. And why can't they just include a picture in the article?

edit: And ugh at the comments.

Welcome. Don't worry about gators. The Lizzardman is the real deal.

The first reported sighting of the creature was made by Christopher Davis, a 17 year old local, who said he encountered the creature while driving home from work at 2 AM on June 29, 1988.[3][2][4] According to his account, Davis stopped on a road bordering Scape Ore Swamp in order to change a tire which had blown out. When he was finishing up he reported having heard a thumping noise from behind him and having turned around to see the creature running towards him.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lizard_Man_of_Scape_Ore_Swamp#cite_note-sanfran1-4

I think the majority of consumed alligator meat is in the tail. I'm sure it's a heavy tail, but disproportionate to the rest of the animal.

anyway, alligator is effing tasty.

I know a man who once killed a Guerrilla with a tooth pick and rubber band. *eye twitches*

And the BB gun didn't do much but piss it off. They used a knife to sever the alligator's spinal cord.

Great... now they killed godzilla and the Japs are going to cause trouble since we can't send it their way anymore. 🙁

In Zebo's sub $1000 survival guide people laughed at .22 suggestion, those of us who have actually killed things know they will kill you dead and deer and geese and lots of other things. But 1000lb Gators! First time for everything.
