rh, I usually agree with you, but since when is it an offense to mouth off to a cop in a non-hostile way?

its not an offense to mouth off a cop, but you shouldn't even if they are wrong. cops can give you a hard time just because they can.

for example in houston, we have a metro rail which basically uses an honor system that you pay before u get on. a month or so ago, hpd started to check and they found a lady without a pass. anyhow they told her to get off and pay for her pass and she can ride, not a big deal right? but then, the stupid b1tch goes mouthing off to the cops which made them do a background check, and they found out that she had warrants out for her arrest. so they ended up cuffing her and taking her in. moral: just let the cops do their job any way (within reason) they see fit, otherwise they will come up with some b1tcha$$ sh1t just to give you a hard time.

rh71, did you even read the story in its entirety? The cop followed her and she made a comment. How is that mouthing off?

vood0g, just because it happened once doesn't mean it's the rule. Think about the broad picture and the sheer number of people who do this but aren't wanted. My opinion is that she was just stupid to mouth off because it draws attention to her. A smart criminal would have kept his/her mouth shut to blend in with everyone else.
