"I went to the bar last night, and people were swarming, trying to ask questions," said Aaron Schenk, 29, of Bad Axe, who spends his summers working at a manure plant and his winters hunting.

The odds of the Bad Axe wolverine actually reading this are laughably low. But until this week, so were the chances of spotting the creature anywhere in Michigan.

Local residents are amazed that an animal usually found in Montana, Idaho and Alaska has turned up in their backyard.

There has been a strange animal I've seen - beaver like in size - in Alabama on several ocassions which I figured was a wolverine, but now I'm not so sure.

I saw an animal that looked like a cross between a dog and a deer once. It bounded across the road in front of me. It was probably just a deer with a fur problem though.

Heh. Anyone ever see the episode of Insomniac where Dave and and New Orleans sharp shooter were sitting in lawn chairs in the back of a pickup truck driving around shooting nutria climing out of the waterways?

That episode was a "blast".

Seen several Wolverines in my life. Pound for pound the toughest animal there is.

My father in law used to have a trap line south of town. He checked it one day and the traps (4 leg traps) were rendered usless by the monster. He ate all the bait and then he pi$$ed all over what was left. He ruined his trap line for a couple years as no animal hangs around territory that a Wolverine scent marked as his.

I've got a lot of respect for them.
