To help people avoid wasting time, there are no end credit scenes. There is an unrelated scene at the beginning though, but I'll let you find out for yourself what it's about. ;)

As for the movie, I'm not sure how I felt about it. I'll be honest in that it was weird having Professor X drop f-bombs. The first two X-Men movies were good at weaving a social message into their story, and while there were more tense, dramatic scenes, the movies were fairly lighthearted overall. This movie is not at all. Given that, it's hard to get over that tonal shift given the expectations set by the previous movies. What's the best way to describe this movie? It's an R-rated, Real Steel with mutants instead of robots. (Real Steel also stars Hugh Jackman.)

Now, let's talk about the movie itself...

I think the biggest problem that I had is that I didn't feel a lot for the relationship between Laura and Logan, and speaking of Real Steel, I had the same issue with that movie. They both follow the exact same plot concept where you have the asshole father (Logan's DNA was used for Laura) that wants nothing to do with their child, but in the end, grows to care about them. I think X-Men First Class had a better relationship between Charles and Erik.

Although, man... that final scene between Laura and Logan will have you choked up. I saw the movie about 12 hours ago, and thinking about it now makes me feel a bit sad.

Saw it.. Didn't like it.. so that means most people will love it.

I thought they really glossed over most things that sounded interesting. They teased a lot of things, like X killing everyone with his seizures, but never really got into what happened and the impact that would have. They hinted at mutants being gone, but then said little else.. then hinted there might be a sanctuary, but then cut before we could find anything out. I wasn't looking for the standard comic over the top CG movie, but I would have preferred a bit more on the world.

Even the villains were underused. The Reavers could have been much more interesting, instead we got cannon fodder that happened to have cyber hands. Not much more than that. Hell, they could have given us a bunch of powered people, but instead we get evil Wolverine... which makes little sense when you think of the people they could have cloned, and combos they could have made.

I will say, by the time the end came around, I was so disconnected that I shrugged my shoulders at the death. They didn't even really talk about his skeleton poisoning him, past teasing it in the doctor's office..

Saw it last night and really loved it. Some parts could've been done better but I think the good more than makes up for the bad.

You didn't pay attention to the middle part where they toured Atlantis to get Wolverine's DNA back from Sinister. It was pretty clear that he was backing Suger-Man's plot to over throw the land dwellers. Thank God Jean Grey talked him out of it, otherwise the surviving X-Men wouldn't have made it out alive.

Yeah, they essentially ignored a lot of the world building that they could've done in the movie. Now, do I blame them for it? Not really. I do think it would've been interesting to learn more about their idea of the future (I've always found that sort of thing interesting in movies), but the point of the movie was to focus on the small scale with the characters. Of course, learning more about West Chester could've helped with that. Also, it would've been interesting to learn more about what happened in between based upon how the characters acted. For example, Logan acts like a fierce guardian for Charles, but it feels like there's little love between the two based upon the way they speak to and act toward each other.

In a similar fashion, the movie didn't do a great job at conveying the reasoning behind emotions. For example, Logan attempts to leave Laura behind multiple times, yet in the end, he saves her and the other mutants. Is it meant to be as simple a the fact that once X24 killed Charles, Logan -- who was essentially a guard dog -- no longer had a master to protect, and latched onto the kid instead?

I loved the movie but you guys are right that tying the emotions to Laura was a slight stretch. I felt it more when
prof x. died and the scene where the dad was aiming the shotgun at logan knowing he lost his entire family and it was all over
. Also I felt like there was no need for world building. A lot of girls I know who never watched any Wolverine or X-Men movie went out bawling tears even though they had no prior emotional attachment to any character.

Saw it this weekend and thought it was tremendous. Easily the equal of Deadpool/Guardians and then some.

This thing pulled no punches emotionally and effectively connected with the audience. I mean it's components and themes are the kind of heavy duty stuff that you usually only see in "art" films since American audiences don't usually come to the movies for things like this anymore. Fortunately enough humor and the tiniest sprinklings of hope and redemption were woven in to not make it a total downer. The ending felt lifted from Children of Men combined the overt Shane reference but I don't feel the least bit bad about that. Took some major balls to do that to genre who's audience that's been coddled in consequence free unicorn farts and cotton candy for a decade and a half.

it wasn't bad to me. felt like they had a script and then added F-bombs to it to make it R rated.

i loved the old school western look to it.

Logan was great. Jackman and company definitely ended the trilogy on a high note with this one.

liked it except for the scene of helping that family on the highway.
it felt so forced.

Logan's a burned out cynic and they're on the run.
stopping to help them round up their horses on loose seems sooooo unbelievable.

Finally saw this movie. Was on a business trip with time to kill so I went to the local theatre to watch it in my downtime. I had no idea what the movie was about, none at all. I had seen none of the trailers, and didn't know what the tone or plot of the movie were going to be. All I knew was that it had gotten positive reviews.

To say that I was happily surprised by this movie is a huge understatement. While I haven't seen all the of the X-Men-with-Wolverine movies, this by far is the best that I've seen. No contest. It's in a totally different league.

I'd put this at a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Impressive.

BTW, I saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on the same trip, the night before. Although I enjoyed both films, I think Logan is a much better movie overall. I won't be buying GotGV2 on Blu-ray, but I will buy Logan.

P.S. One good thing about seeing it so late in the theatrical run is that getting seats is so easy. I showed up literally after the previews had started, bought my ticket, and got a prime seat. There were less than two dozen people in the entire theatre for that Monday night 7:30 showing.

I always get good seats, mostly because I don't go to movies unless it is a weekday at they start after 10PM.

Yeah I saw GotGV2 at 10:40 pm Sunday night opening weekend and managed to get one of the best seats in the theatre. Right in the middle of the sweet spot of the IMAX 3D (full size IMAX with reserve seating) was a single empty seat. In contrast, the 7:30 showing was a complete lost cause.

Do you think it was worth it to go for IMAX? I still need to see volume 2
No. No need for IMAX IMO for GotGV2.

Mind you I may have had a biased opinion, since I saw it at a dual Xenon IMAX theatre. Too dim. Would have been better with dual laser projection. But I suspect I still wouldn't have felt the need for IMAX, or 3D for that matter.

I did not care for it either TBH. It was ok, but not good.
