Wolfenstein lockups

Playing Wolfenstein and have been loving every minute of it until i got to the Zepplin level.
Ever since i started the Zepplin level, im getting lockups and corrupt saves.

Anyone else have this issue and solved it yet?

I read on the official forums that others have this issue and its an issue with the console versions too.

Yet i know others have managed to finish the game, yet i cannot and ive tried on all three of my pcs and it still locks up randomly during the Zepplin level.

Of course all my pcs have the latest drivers and i tried on Vista and Win7, using all the different compatability modes and the usual "try older video drivers", disable sound etc..etc..


Has anyone finished the game on pc and can you list your specs including OS?
I'll image my pc and install winxp if i HAVE too.




 
I finished it yesterday on Bring the Pain or whatever the hard difficulty is. My specs are:

Intel Core2Quad CPU q9300 @ 3.3GH, IP35-E (Intel P35+ICH9/R) Mainboard, 8GB G.SKILL PI Black, NVIDIA GeForce GTX260, SB X-Fi, Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Edition

It froze up on me one time when I was playing, fighting one of the blue dudes in Isenstadt. Other than that, it was fine.

Q6600@3,2ghz, Abit IP35-E, 8gb Corsair, 8800GTX, X-fi Xtreme Music, win7 Ultimate 64bit =lockups

My "backup" pc specs.
E6300@2.5ghz, Asus P5WDH Deluxe, 4gb Corsair, 8800GTS, Audigy 2 ZS, Vista Ultimate 64bit =Lockups

Hmmmm....wonder what the heck is causing this.

I image my pcs after clean installs, and restore the images often to keep them "clean".
I Never have gaming issues.

Do you have UAC turned on?
BTW, thanks a million for the info, it gives me hope for a solution.
 
Well, i re-loaded back to the airfield and managed to get through most of the zepplin level this time (first time in like 60 tries too).

I managed to get through 90% of the zepplin level without dying and it played fine.

But once i die and reload a saved game, then it locks up.
Something is corrupting the saved games, i dont wanna blame it on the games protection, but i honestly have no idea what else it could be.

Guess ill have to keep jumping backwards a few saves every time i die for the last two levels.

That sux.


 
The game was rock solid stable for me, although i'm currently on the zepellin and not quite finished.

Q6600, 8800gt, windows 7 x64 Professional
 
Mine was also until the Zepplin, heck it never even had a hiccup until then.

LOVED the game anyway, i honestly think it deserves better scores than the reviews give it. :thumbsup:


 
After much reading it seems to only happen if you re-load / replay missions, which i did to get tomes i had missed.
That sux, i woulda left the tomes be if i knew it messed up the save games.

 
Finally managed to finish the game, the final boss fight was frickin' tough!

Awesome game!
I have no idea why people seem to say its just a generic shooter, the enemies, weapons and powers were great IMO. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

 
I passed the zepplin area and still no lock ups or probs ever with my specs below. No idea what could be causing this for you.
