I have started playing Wolfenstein....got it off e-bay for $10.

This is from id software and I believe it uses the Doom 3 engine.....it still holds up fairly well, even by todays standards.

So far the game has been pretty fun....as it has some nice features.

Played a bit of it. Pretty meh shooter. Graphics was nice and crisp though. Which was a breath of fresh air away from Bloom/Brown festered FPS games of today.

The game was horribly average. It was worth a play through for $5 maybe, and I heard the multiplayer sucked balls.

Got it the same time I got ME2, played about 1Hr and gave it away. It felt like it was from 2003 gameplay wise.

Broke my heart. All they had to do was re-skin RTCW for the multiplayer and it would have been awesome. Remember when id and it's affiliated clients were known for pushing the graphical envelope? Doom 3 engine is ancient.

I had it on PS3. The single player was interesting for a bit, but after a while it gets sort of dry and repetitive. The multiplayer was terrible. It could have been better if they would have put in some real game types and the ability to have more than 12 players, but they didn't, and it really really sucks. $10 is the max I would pay for it. $5 would be a more fair price, but TBH, it's not really even worth purchasing unless you're a fan of the Wolfenstein series.

OMG I know!! Lets start an online petition for them to rerelease rtcw on a modern engine!

Man all those great games I bought in the 90s I'd buy all over again if they would just update the graphics and NOT touch game play. Maybe a tweak here and there and improved AI, but other then that I'd be sold.

But no, they insist on making abominations of past great games which is really a shame.

I couldn't finish this game it was so bad. Forgot I even bought it until I saw this thread. The SP was consolized garbage, and the MP didn't even function even. When it did work it wasn't fun.

I can not comment on the MP aspect of the game, as I only play SP.

The SP , for me, has gotten better and better the further that I have gotten in the game.

I do agree that it is just a slightly above average shooter.....just because like most games today, it suffers from "consolitis".....I am playing the game on hard and it is still pretty easy.

I have found no problems with it technically however.....no crashes....clipping....game stopping glitches.

I also like seeing what the Doom 3 engine was capable of doing rendering out door enviorments.....the engine is still capable of rendering pretty darn good graphics for its age.

I had played it for awhile few months ago, but couldn’t really get into it.
The graphics is pretty but the script is corny and not well for gameplay.
I think I have tons of games in my list and can make a better choice.

Isn't that a good thing? Most recent shooters cater to console style gameplay, a good number of em were still PC focused in 2003.

The Veil powers are pretty cool in this game......I do wish that they would have made the game alittle harder......I am assuming it is because this is a port over and they wanted to make sure grandma could also play this game and beat it :D

easy games. Did you have an original Nintendo? Those games were hard. I tried a Mega Man demo on the PS3 and I would never buy a hard game like that today. It is not fun to die all the time and replay the same level over and over again. But i did enjoy them back in the 1980's.

Agreed. I played Wolf:ET competitively for quite a while, I loved that game to no end and still think it was one of the most fun shooters games ever.

I pirated wolf 2009, demo'd it for 30 minutes and wanted to /wrists

My son also liked Enemy Territory alot.....we have the platinum edition of RTCW and it has ET on it.....I believe it is a free download though, and some people still play it.

I never played it, but I enjoyed the SP of RTCW.

I am also enjoying the SP of Wolfenstein 2009

rtcw was amazing. I think some of us lived through the golden age of fps games. They just don't make them like those anymore. God I remember going to bed with rtcw mp etched into my closed eyes and the tips of my fingers bruised. yeah thats a fucking good game.
