This worked for me in getting two tenants evicted before I gave up and bought a house. Apartment/condo/loft life isn't worth it. Not all roses in the single family home villages either, but you can at least find something that helps to moderate those insatnces.

BTW, in my county the local noise ordinance isn't based on hours of the day. You can call anything and have the matter addressed.

Yeah, I learned this for myself a few months ago. I live on the border of Los Gatos and San Jose in California. Both towns don't necessarily have a noise curfew, but they use some sort of good-will system. I kept calling the cops every time they would blast party music until midnight; finally the police got tired of coming out and hearing music as they pulled up,applied the needed pressure to the neighbors and warned them about coming back out over their noise-making.

Sadly I got a dose of my own medicine a week later; using power tools to renovate during the day/early evening caused the very same asshole neighbors to call the police. While the police were super nice and knew what was up, this incident made me realize that neighbors will always be complete fucking assholes if they have the power and ability to. My family is now looking for 4+ acres in the Bay Area to move away from these fucks.

So many cheaper solutions...

Here's one hint: Almost every house has a dryer vent.
