geez i thought summer time was over
my temps are way too high with this P4

I had it running at like 2.6ghz at 1.6v and left it running seti and it crashed during the hottest time of the day
it was perfectly stable throughout the night and morning

my temps jumped up as follows:

cpu: 55c
system: 38c

i prefer like 45c and 33c as maximums

looks like I am gonna be running at like 2.4ghz with the lowest voltages the bios lets me

guess i'll have to get watercooling if i want anymore from this thing

you'd think an sp-94 and a vantec 90mm 4k+ rpm fan would be enough
I don't think the heatpipes help much

also i was noticing the air coming out of my psu was like hot air coming out of a toaster

bla

55°C on that P4 had nothing to do with your corrupt Windows install. Those CPUs will run up to 70-72°C and then start throttling back, 55°C isn't even breaking a sweat for that CPU.

You're probably just not stable at whatever FSB you're running at. I'd look at your memory speed and PCI/AGP speeds (hopefully the PCI/AGP is locked at or near 33/66MHz) first.

Have you run Memtest86 and Prime95 on this system to check your stability?

yeah i guess it is my memory

this is dissapointing
bla

maybe i damaged my memory cause i can't even get it to do 217mhz 2-2-3-6 with 2.78v anymore

i tellya
ohh well

well atleast My temps are good under load at 2ghz and 168fsb:

cpu: 41c
system: 26c

if anything good comes out of this i can atleast lower my fan speeds to acceptable noise levels

i have outfitted my case with 6 fans 5 of which are adjustable speed
this includes 2 80mm vantec case fans and 1 90mm vantec fan on my sp-94
also the psu fan which is adjustable and two standard 80mm fans
