What the heck happened? I'm looking through the headlines and there's nothing really pointing to why the sudden sharp drop in price.

Anyone know what happened? Another glitch?

I think it is an electronic hiccup. In order for INTC to drop 50% volume has to be in the neighborhood of 3 billion shares changes hands.

And, if the drop is true, I'll pick up a few thousand INTC shares tomorrow.

Damn, won't be able to get my new brokerage account funded in time to grab that. If it opens down in the 7's as indicated now that's well below any 52w low. Unlikely to stay there for very long.

must be a glitch/error.

Last trade for ~45K shares at that $7 price. All other trades before it were normal $15 range. Probably will fix itself tomorrow morning.

If not, I may have to buy buy buy =P

hmmm. I don't have the kind of cash to invest in INTC that I'd love to if this drop holds true enough at the first minute to buy. I'd have to sell off some of my other investments, and a good portion of those are in good shape as well. I really want to hold long what I have right now... leaves me with little to jump in on Intel, sadly.. because if that does hold true, it'll jump back up pretty quickly to around 15.00 again I'd imagine. Gonna have to dwell on this a bit and see if I should put an order for around that that price, though I seriously don't expect to see any trades happen at that price in the morning.
