woah...virtual laser keyboard

I remember seeing tech demos of this, glad to see it finally making it to production.

if you're seriously considering a handheld over a laptop you need your head examined, they aren't even in the same league.

[EDIT]Try touch typing on your desk with your eyes closed. Now try the same thing on your keyboard. I don't know how well this thing will work, no tactile feedback could be it's weak point.[/EDIT]

Viper GTS

They've been talking about this since I was a junior in HS (maybe earlier) -- I'm finishing soph year in college now. I'm really surprised to see one for sale. I'm curious to see how it works.

Cool. Wonder how powerful the laser is? What happens if you knock the projector thingie over and it burns your retinas out? lol

nah, ain't a gimmick...just curious as to when it'll be available. Siemens recently displayed a module that worked with a cell phone so that you could do full text messaging and whanot. Too bad it was about the size of a fat fat pen, in addition to the cell.

I have been intrigued by the idea of this since seeing a photo of a prototype years ago. I type badly enough on an actual keyboard, though, and this thing probably requires more precision, in that you can't withdraw from a keypress, as it were. I seem to type much better at work on a keyboard that requires firm pressure than I do on my Logitech Elite at home, but I can't seem to find a sufficiently firm KB for my house that still has a volume control.

this is useless. on a real keyboard you can feel where the keys are, no need to look, like the notches on f and j.

Just get a remote control for your pc. you can program in windows volume control, and winamp as well. cost me like 6 bucks plus shipping.
