$122 for heating my apartment in ARIZONA!
Imagine that LOL!

This apartment complex has really crappy insulation. It costs me $165 to cool down in June.

Another proof that the buildings in Tucson AZ are crappy, or cheaply built.

He probably means making sure the window has a tight seal. One way is through weather stripping the window.

Yeah, I call it luck. Its well insulated in my building.. I guess the floor below us and the apts beside us keep us insulated because it gets so warm in here WITHOUT the heat on that i have to crack a window.

Are you in an apt building? What floor are you on Frustrated? Hot air rises. So you should atleast be getting warmth from a floor below you if so. Id definitely try to seal up your windows. They sell that shrinkwrap plastic stuff at home depot.. majority of your heat is probably being lost through there.

Of course they are, how could they build them so fast otherwise.
Everytime I go down there is more crap being built. It never seems to end.

That and it is the U-turn capital of the world.

I'm on the 2'nd of 2 floors.

It's been cold here lately, well ~33F at night. I do keep my apartment at 75F all year round.
The windows are only single glass windows.

Sounds like a quality house, just like back home in Sweden. Never had my heat on there. And it got down to -10C in winter.
Well, I guess I have to pay for the 9 great months here somehow. ;)

Id seriously try the sealing the windows with plastic. The stuff is cheap. And it could save a lot on your utilities.

damn, i never spent more than $20 or so on gas in my old house. it had major drafts and no insulation at all in the walls but luckily it wasn't that big and i like it cool anyway.

if you want some cheap heating buy like 12 computers with 1.4GHz AMD Athlon Thunderbirds, run em 24/7, under load from DC apps of course :)
