I just saw Point Break last night and his acting was pretty bad. If it wasn't his monotone voice it was the delayed reactions. Bad all around.

Funny I never noticed this crappiness in the Matrix series. Maybe he got better. Is it OK to see his other films?

He was good in the Matrix because he was such a terrible actor. That's one of the few roles he "fits" in. The delayed reactions and whatnot make you think he's going over something in his head, but we all know he's not.

Marlon Brando he ain't. He plays a passable "Dude", but his emotional range goes from A to B.

he ought to be typecasted for depressed, slow, clueless, or dumb guys. like matrix worked out well when he was taken down the rabbit hole. he'd be a brilliant actor then.

I've heard that this is actually one of his better roles since he plays a totally emotionless alien rather than a human. So his totally emotionless delivery is more believable.

However, I also heard this was an absolutely terrible movie (did anyone honestly expect it not to be?), and that's why it is to be avoided.

yeah, he plays a great nonhuman/superhuman, but that movie just sucked...

Constantine is another example...did pretty well in that role, it was just the movie that didn't quite deliver.
