I heard somebody peeling out in our parking lot and heard a crash. I to the window to see a car peel around a corner right in front of my building and ran outside to try and get the license number. I couldn't get it, but I know it was a blue Chevy corsica. I just called campus police to tell them I heard it and saw the car, but not the plates. They asked if I'm going to be up if they need to question me. It looks like it might be a long night.

Unfortunately I didn't actually see it happen, so the car I saw peeling out might be someone else, but it is unlikely. I don't know which car is hit either, but mine is fine.

Well, they just called me back, there are two other witnesses. I hope they get this guy.

I just went outside to see what's going on, the 2 other witnesses reported the same car. 3 campus police units showed up on the scene. One of them took my name, student id# and asked what I saw. The third said they were questioning somebody. It turns out somebody got out of the offending car and went into building B. The police got a list of all the residents in the building. They are currently searching for the car in conjunction with the town police.

The car that was hit was right in front of the building next to mine (building B, I live in building A). It is a brand new chevy malibu, black. The driver door was destroyed, and the car was pushed up a couple of feet onto the sidewalk. I wish I could take a picture, but it is night time and the cops are still around. I may be able to get one up tomorrow, but I'm not promising anything.

I'm really glad to see such a quick response on the part of the police here and the other residents. I feel safe knowing that even if there is a chance my car will be damaged in the parking lot, the police take it very seriously. That and my fellow residents are quick and willing to report what they know.
