Ripping CDs cant get any easier than this. I don't have to press ANY button (with proper options of course). I just pop the CD in and it automatically starts ripping, after it's done, CD automatically pop out. The whole process takes 2-3 min per CD and requires NO clicking buttons. I use WMA @ 160kbps, btw (my Zen Touch supports WMA). Read from several places that WMA is better than MP3 at lower rates (128kbps or less).

I love wmp10 too. I hated 9. HATED ITS!! But 10 is just plain sex. It just works. After using it for ten minutes I uninstalled winamp (not joking).

WMP10 let you rip to WMA as well as MP3. I think WMP9 only allows WMA. Although I still choose WMA.

you're saying MS has a product that flat out beats the competition? on its own merit? get away !!!!!

wait... MS has a good product?

Are we sure they arent digital-raping us somehow?

I think ill let you all alpha test it for a while.....

Can you configure it to open up another session if one is currently active? i.e. if I'm watching a movie using WMP10 and decide to play a MP3, it's going to close the movie, and open up a new player for the MP3. How can I do both simutaneously?

Will it still let me play my divx/xvid? I heard there's some sort of copyright protection schemy that's built right into it.

WMP10 looks hella smooth, but I still prefer the power and simple interface of Media Player Classic. WMP10 takes too long to close and open compared to MPC, and it doesn't have a lot of the options of MPC. The only big advantage it has over MPC as a movie player is that it looks very nice, but who cares when you full screen it. Still, it's a keeper and I would recommend getting it.

DIVX and Xvid works fine.

Not sure if I have a reason to upgrade. Only reason I keep wmp9 is to watch wmp files. For mpgs I use media player classic and for everything else I use BSPlayer which is incredibly nice.

I don't seem to have a mp3 option... Do I need a plug-in? Is there one where I don't have to shell out $10?

tools -> options ->rip music -> format: change from wma to mp3

it lets you change the bit rate but not VBR or CBR

I like the look of WMP10. It made me change my XP appearance to silver, so I now have a new slick look. I noticed the file, edit, view, etc menu options aren't in the normal place, but in a drop-down in the top right. Is that a preview to a new look in Longhorn?
