WMP random play not random enough.

It always seems to play the same bunch of songs every time I start it up, though not in exactly the same order! Problem with their algorithm?

Doesn't this have to do with how many "stars" a song has, i.e. how often you listen to it? WMP favors those, I think

stars represent your own rating on the song and you have to put those in yourself... but I do think how often it's been played is a factor it's just not the stars that tell you that

The stars get there automatically somehow... can I remove them? This is ridiculous because when I play on random, the more a song is played, the more likely it will be played again! It'll cycle until it always goes in the same order!

Okay, I figured out just highlight all the songs, go to "rate" and pick a rating, and they'll all be set to the same. Randomness is significantly better! Thanks!
