WMD in Iran?

You do know that news of WMDs in Iran is not new, right? The story here is that they are trying to develop missiles to launch them. I believe N.Korea's current range would allow them to hit Japan. Its the whole hostage effect, where they'll threaten to launch missiles at "pedestrian" nations should we ever say, "you need to stop inesting all your money into your military so your citizens can actually live a decent life and eat food on a regulary basis."

Problem with sectioning off ALL political and news views is that no one here is exposed to anything other than car or girl or fart threads. Seems to me that in a computer forum news and politics IS off topic. I know why it was done, but unless things get out of hand then some limited exposure to the realities of life isn't a bad thing.

That's exactly what I meant by "Fsck P&N". I see it as unnecessary, and I have no problems with the news being posted here.

If there must be 2 "Off Topic" forums, just make it Politics. I like seeing news threads posted.

Interesting thought, but then wouldn't people just post political news in the OT section. I mean every political thing has an article written somewhere. I'm like you though, I like seeing light P&N stuff in OT, but wouldn't touch P&N with a 10 foot pole.

edit: Oh, they have been talking about Iran and WMDs for what, a decade or two now. This isn't "new."

Being a US citizen (and a college student) that is of persian decent and has both heritage and family in Iran, I don't take lightly to joking about stuff like this. I'm sorry, but simply put, it's just not funny. I don't go joking about killing your grandparents, I don't think it's fair that you should get away with joking about killing mine.
