Without looking it up, do you know what Scroll Lock does?

it changes between computers on my KVM

i hit scroll lock twice and then up or down arrow to change computers

Scroll lock pisses me off ...

We use lotus notes at work, if I accidently hit the scroll lock key, it makes the entire window scroll around with arrows instead of the location of the cursor.
It also sorta does the same thing in Excel.

IIRC, it also works like Pause used to for Dos when dealing with Linux consoles with AT/PS2 keyboards (I assume USB as well, but I have never used a USB keyboard)

Been using computers since 1984, I started with PCs around 1991 or so, with a 486 DX33.

I was actually wondering this very thing the other day. The only use for me (or most other people) is KVM switching and the like, as far as I know.

Yes, I know what it does, or rather "did." Been using a computer since about 1980. I've wondered for years why they haven't gotten rid of it yet. Are there applications where it still applies??

And how long have you been using a computer?

"Scroll Lock can be regarded as a defunct feature in almost all modern programs and operating systems."

That's what I use it for.

I just toggled my KVM thanks to this thread 😛 (I almost never use the other machine, and I forgot it was still hooked up)
