Just finished watching the first 9 episodes (thank you mispelled exploding star)
OMFG, this series is the BEST SCI-FI YOU WILL EVER WATCH. (A title previous held by Babylon 5 and/or Stargate SG-1, depending on the episode)
It's consistently good, and consistently logical. I've not seen a series in a very, VERY long time try to get so much right with the military. They used the right terminology, right command structure, right tactics, etc. I mean, it's like the Galactica is a real, live, honest-to-gods warship. You've not seen anything like this in SciFi to date, trust me. Heck, I still get tingly every time a fighter coming in for a trap is radioed to "Port bay, hands on approach. Check your screen. Call the ball." replied with "Galactica, this is xxx, I have the ball". OMFG. Awesomeness. Just little details they get right that blow your mind to see done correctly.
The stories tend to make sense, too. And while the Cylons have made virtually no fleet appearance after the (impressive) first episode, the episodes still manage edge-of-your-seat tension throughout.
The new series is seriously simply the best SciFi that has ever aired.
