The Dell XPS 13/15" or Surface pro 4/with keyboard cover?

I tried all kinds of configurations but I'm still undecided?.......

Convince me one way or another which is best.

Not for gaming, but a basic laptop for web, movies,
you tube. Just want something that's gonna be not too big and perform good for a few years.

Depends on usecase. Do you need high portability? Then the SP4 is better. The Dell XPS(esp the 1080p versions) has great battery life. The Skylake version's coming out soon, too. I'd probably lean toward SP4, just because it's lighter and while it has shorter battery life it's still fairly long(8+ hours) so it should cover the bases. That being said, there are production issues right now. I'd wait until the XPS with Skylake comes out and see if the improvements in battery life there is so drastic as to change the equation. And if not, by then the production issues should (hopefully) be fixed with the SP4.

I went with the XPS 15" with a i7 Skylake, 16gb ram, SSD drive, and gtx960M.
