With $6000, nothing to buy and nothing you need, what would you do?

Go to the dollar store and buy 6000 dollar items, then one day when you go broke, you

can see how all your nik-naks look inside that cardboard box that you will be living in.

I'd buy a piano. I have a pretty nice ($1k) keyboard with realistic action, but it still pales in comparison to even a cheap piano in feel and sound. Even if you're not as into the piano as I am, if you were to buy one... well, it would be a practical investment.

I have a piano as well.... it's an upright. 🙂

scrounge up another grand or two, buy an IBM t221, then rip it apart and build the worlds most kick-ass DIY projector. It'd be a helluva lot of fun, and I think you'd be the first person ever to do such a thing.

Neighbor: what resolution is that projector?
you: 3840x2400
Neighbor:

It depends on your financial situation. I'd probably put it into a money market account if I thought I might use it sometime this year.

If you're too stupid and need to ask what to do with it, just use it as toilet paper and flush it down the toilet.

Should I try to gamble it away on poker? Or invest it? Or just let it sit in savings accounts...

I have a car, I have a computer, I have a crappy laptop. A cellphone, a digicam, an mp3 player. I don't think I really need anything else...

So please, ideas. 😉

edit: And I have a girl, so the sechs is $0.

Invest it? Bite your tongue.

FSENX (Fidelity Select Energy Fund)
