Clearly none of your woman are standing behind you. Better yet, you probably have no balls to tell your mother/woman (assuming you guys are even remotely capable of having one) how you really feel/the truth.

lol, I can't imagine any women in my immediate family caring the least about this holiday. How exactly does the average American male honor women through it?

You mean the history books that detail all the men who died?

People that died have nothing to do with this day.

Unequal rights/treatment and oppression has.

Imagine their was a white people day to celebrate all the wonderful accomplishments of white people.

Not sure if we deserve that hehe

And you were a black person. Would you embrace that day?

I wouldn't care. Whatever floats people's boat.

Women's day is pretty broad. You have to realize that MOST of the world still treats women like 2nd hand citizens.

Even though US is probably a leader of woman's right (even surpassed that to some extent)..... doesn't mean it's still not a HUGE problem around the world. Although clearly (based on this thread alone) the issue still exists here as well.

US does support it abroad though. We do plenty of business and handouts to countries that are still stuck in the old ways....

Happy Woman's day!

You have a mother?

Have you read history books? After 1000s of years of oppression (which btw continues today) and unequal treatment (among MANY other things).....I think women deserve a LOT more than just "Woman's day".

Oh, give me a break.

You mean like black history month? I thought that black history month was only February, but apparently they get October now as well.

Or Mother's Day
Or Sweetest Day
What else am I missing?

Christmas
Their birthday (bishes in college are doing 'birthday months' now, tying to get people to buy them drinks all fucking month)
Anniversaries
Then you've got to remember to 'surprise' them with things they want randomly

Seriously? What kind of attention-seeking "me-me-me" whore does that? Ugh. Sounds like she'd make a wonderful wife.

So drafting men, but not women, to die in foreign wars is not unequal treatment in your book?

You mean because people don't want women receiving unequal treatment by having special day reserved for them? ^_^

For the record thinking this W-day business is dumb doesn't prevent me from thinking this clown hates women.

Real women don't need one day a year to make them feel better. They are too busy being a real woman.

Your little world is much bigger than Maryland...or America.

I suggest you travel around and see the shape rest of the world is in....mmmkay?

I've been all around the world, and you know what I learned? Popular phrases and their correct usage.
The phrase is second class citizen dumbass.
And WTF does Maryland have to do with anything?!
Edit: (Now I understand, you're not big on reading, just rage replying.)

Because it's a stupid "day", just like 99% of the stupid "day"/"month" recognitions out there.

Just like any other holiday, there is # of reasons.
- bring people together (all too often families split up and years go flying by quick).
- remind you to appreciate special people in your life (cause you know, many people are not perfect and forget to do it on daily/weekly basis).

Why not is the big question. What is so WRONG about a fuckin holiday? Go ahead tell us how this day makes your life SO much worse and miserable.

If you're not appreciating the people in your life every day, you think one day is going to make them not feel like a "second hand citizen"? LOL
The white knight is hoping to get some pussy tonight!

Stop visiting lala land and tourist centers??

This world is much bigger than what you are used to/around. Don't be so close minded. There is plenty of "well of" countries that still treat woman like shit.

Second class....hand.......shitty.....unequal.......whatever words you want to use. Women are still mistreated in many parts of the world.
