So who else was spared two weeks of pain and a couple thousand dollars by having their wisdom teeth grow inline?

even if they grow in straight, you'll still run into problems because it is hard to clean and hard to floss and they'll rot off.

Mine didn't grow in straight but I had insurance and a good oral surgeon so I was spared those things anyway! :p

Well, I have one of mine left?

You missed out though, I got to trip on Valium for a few hours, and on the way home my mom (I was 15 at the time) decided to do some shopping, while I had a mouth full of bloody cotton balls and was still hopped up. They found me wandering the parking lot drooling on myself.

Good times.

I have all of mine, but they are starting to get cavities since I can't get a toothbrush back there.

mine grew in strait. but my gums still covered them. so they just yanked them out. took them 10 min, and i was eating food by the next day. no pain pour moi. it wasn't that bad. my brother took 40 min in there though, but he has high density bones, the guy couldn't crack the bottom teeth in half to get them out. kinda funny. he was in pain for a few days.

did you have an xray to see if you have them or not? they could be there, but buried.

I got a whole bottle of Percocet which is still sitting on the shelf. They yanked my wisdom teeth out while I was awake. The sound of those teeth ripping out of my mouth will stay with me forever.

ahhh yes, the sound is one only you can hear like that, but they are a lot rougher with you if you are put under, so... it's still better to be awake.

Its certainly possible. I haven't been to the dentist for a couple years, but last time they did x-rays I didn't have them. I'm hoping I lucked out.

you need to have a panorex xray, but actually, if you do have them and they remain unerupted/unaccessible, they can stay that way and cause you no harm. let sleeping dogs lie, so to speak.

Ugh...my wisdom teeth came in impacted (sideways) and came out in 4 pieces each. I was kinda awake...lots of novocaine and laughing gas to top that off when the novocaine didn't do the trick. There is something wrong when they go into your mouth with a chisel and start hammering it. To top that off I came down with the flu two days after getting them out, talk about the worst christmas vacation ever.

wisdom teeth are your 3rd molars, and yes the very back ones.

Mine had a chance to come in straight or they could have been impacted so I just got them removed. Only thing I got for the pain was Novocaine while they pull them out piece by piece. None of the good drugs. :(

No wisdom teeth for me...39 years old...see the dentist every 6 months. Lucky I know. Dry socket is no fun.
