okay so when do these things get better anyways... it's been like 4 days and they are still sore. and now my mouth tastes really bad. i even brushed my teeth for the first time today and it still tastes bad. it tastes like a combination the dentist's office and general stale oral dirtiness. argh. i think it hurts more today than it did yesterday.

well i already had a gap on one of them, so i don't think i'll get any further annoyed with that...

but what about this bad taste? is that normal?

i guess i'm of no help - i got over the swelling completely in three days, the bulk of it was gone in two.

you should be going back in about a week right for a followup? ask them then.

yea i'm seeing them on the 26th. but dammit, i've got people to see, places to be.... ugh. i don't have very much swelling anymore, just a little soreness and bad taste

I'm glad that I got them taken out two years ago. I felt really bad over the pain meds that I was on, but once those wore off, I was feeling great.

yea yea yea. i'm just irritated because i really want to hang out with friends and i'm watching my break slip away 🙁

www.cedant.com

a little pricey for a poor college student who really doesn't ever use his website, but hey. i knew that cyberwings stuff wasn't going to last 😛

Bad taste?

I had 3 impacted wisdom teeth, and right after the procedure I was feeling well enough to work. Painless operation.

This doens't help much...but if in doubt, call your surgeon!

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted back in September. My dentist packed the 2 lower sockets with medicated gauze and it gave me a bad taste in my mouth as well, especially when I woke up from a state of sleep. You can use mouthwash to help with the bad taste, or brush a few times a day. I also kept ice packs on my face quite often for 3-4 days and had very little swelling.

I think the worst part of the whole ordeal was the first couple of days when soup and mashed potatoes were necessary. I began eating decent foods after 10 or so days, and that was a plus.

I still had visible bruising on the outside of my face for about nine - ten days, it started around the fourth day. Swelling didn't completely subside for six - seven days and the pain coincided approximately with the swelling, although for up to a month it hurt to bite down even lightly on something directly where the teeth use to be.

My situation was probably worse than typical, it was a very difficult extraction. Nobody believes me when I show them a photo that was taken 48 hours after having them pulled. They think I packed my cheeks with something to make them look so badly swollen. Nope, haha.

I guess they didn't think it was possible for a face to swell that much.
