Wisconsin "Protestors" Desecrate War Memorial

I thought only right wingers behaved badly!?!??! 😱 At least thats what the media keeps telling me?

To be fair, this is madison wisconsin. It's about the only place on earth that rivals bezerkly in terms of radical libs. I had friends who thought they were liberal until they went to school in Madison...

all they had to do was ask them to put that shit on some cardboard around the memorial, stirrin' shit up over not much.

edit: is there even anything on that side?

Sigh. I came into this thread all set to side with the righties. I was going to post, "They should find and prosecute everyone involved in damaging the memorial."

Then I found out the OP was a lie. They didn't desecrate anything. Even the clip only claims they "disrespected' it. Certainly one can question their judgment setting up where they did. It even sounded like they were initially willing to move it. Their first response was "OK." But then the complainer started going on and on like a condescending d-bag, intentionally creating drama out of thin air.

In short, it's just more contrived outrage by the nutters, and another dishonest OP by Patranus.

Why oh why did I figure you'd be an apologist....

"desecrate" : to violate the sanctity of or to treat disrespectfully, irreverently, or outrageously

Truly disgusting.
What is almost as disturbing as the desecration of the war memorial is the fact that they didn't just say "OK" and remove the stuff when the issue was brought up.

It's in the middle of the floor, I guess moving such a big object for such an event would be a better idea?

Anyhow Unions built this country and its war machinery,

Once the leader of the "group" showed up, they admitted to their mistake and took down their signs. The guy filming the thing even seemed happy by the outcome. Desecration not found, story not found.

So only a matter of minutes before this ends up on Fox News as "All Demoncrates desecrete the memory of Soldiers and wish they had died again!"

uh, they didn't take their shit down in the video. Hopefully they did remove their shit, but it doesn't change their disrespect for the memorial by covering it in their crap.

Not surprising that you'd ignore everything I said except the one word you could use for semantics games. Even that is lame. The word "desecrate" generally implies damage of some sort, or at least something willfully offensive like defecating on it.

Bottom line, there is no justified outrage here. They set up in a public place, behind a war monument with no intent for disrespect. It was at worst an honest mistake.

on the back of the memorial and crap piled in the front. Definitely very disrespectful. It was at BEST an honest mistake and made worse by the morons trying to defend it.

So wait a minute. You mean to tell me the OP made a post where the Title and the truth have yet to be formally introduced? I can't believe that!

Saw the video, looks like those people who were being disrespectful to a war memorial. After watching, it certainly doesn't appear in any shape or form that was their intention. Looks like they were jockeying for space and picked the wrong GD spot. Looks like the took care of the situation after having to be told how wrong they were for being anywhere near it. Stupid, yes. Disrespectful to the Memorial, yes. Willingly, not so much. DESECRATING? Only a tool would come to that conclusion.

Definitely very disrespectful.

This coming from a poster that gets offended over women breastfeeding in public? Meh. Unions built the war effort while the Workers fought the war.

Most of those vets would probably tell you to piss off you union busting troll while giving you the finger from their 100% Union-built airplanes on their way to bomb the Kochs ancestors over Europe. 😀

"desecrate" is a much more loaded term than "disrespectful."
If you went up to 100 people on the street and told them someone was disrespectful to John Doe's grave and ask them what the punishment should be,

then went up to 100 more people on the street and told them someone desecrated John Doe's grave and ask them what the punishment should be, you're going to get completely different responses. OP is attempting to sensationalize what actually happened.

Givin' Righties their daily dose of faux outrage. "Desecrating!" the memorial by hanging stuff on the back side? Outrage? Only if you need it to be...
